"I always purchased the air purifiers with the washable permanent filters and while they worked really well the first couple of days after cleaning them, I have to say I'll never go back again. Even though you have to replace the filters (which btw I'm a cheap a$$) it's beyond worth it. I have a 750 sqft 1 bedroom apartment and while this unit says it will do 300-600sqft it works very well on my entire apartment. "I probably purchased a slightly smaller size than I needed - the room it is in is closer to 350' and this purifier said it was for up to 200'. Since we had not had one yet, we didn't want to go "all in" on one for a larger room until we knew if we would utilize it. I have been pleased with with one though. Every once in a while I would smell a bit of a damp odor in our bedroom that I assumed was coming from the adjoining master bath (natural stone tiled shower). We have been using this for almost 2 months and I have not smelled that since and normally would considering our humidity!

The options for high, medium and low are nice. I'm not sure that the 8 hour option works like I thought it would - I thought that if you selected that it would run for 8 hours and then stop for 8 hours etc... but it runs for 8 hours and then shuts off. Which probably makes sense but I couldn't remember to turn it back on! So at night we use the sleep option and hope that one of us will remember to change it in the morning! "I've purchased four of these True Hepa Air Purifiers (2 for me and 2 for someone else) w/in the last 4 months. As far as I can tell it works very well. I cannot SEE if it's taking in any dust, mold or mites but it sure picks up odors. I live in an apt building and a light cigarette odor was coming into my apt. in the evenings. I didn't keep it on 24/7 (electric bill) but would put it on in the evenings. The light would be blue to start out and around 8p I would begin to smell the cigarette odor and the amber/red light would come on. Shortly thereafter the smell would disappear and the light would go back to blue. ANY, and I repeat ANY, odors and the amber light comes on. When I go into my bedroom at bedtime and turn the 2nd purifier on, the light turns amber even though I don't smell any odors. It must be picking up dust and whatever. I live in New York City and there is LOTS of dust and dirt in the air from all of the construction and traffic! The purifier is letting me know there is something in the air that needs cleaning. The blue light goes on about 10 min letting me know the air is clear. I then put purifier on auto through the night. If I spray perfume or anything, the amber light comes on and goes off once the odor is gone. I also like the different levels of speed that it has. "I took a picture of it with my grubby sandle in front of it for size sake. It's fairly quiet, it's "smart" and I'm so glad I bought it. I applied fingernail polish which is pretty stinky and it kicked up to high to clean the air. The lights show you the speed and and your air quality. It seems to be working for my stinky house! "This thing is amazing, purchased for my wife due to her allergies - but have found that it works for everything. We placed in living room and once you turn it on (silent/auto) it takes care of it self. example---my wife started to take off her nail polish off, a minute after opening the remover bottom it went from blue (light) silent to red high, 5 minutes after she finished it went back to blue silent on its own.
